Richard Colombo & Laurie Linn CD Release Concert
Richard Colombo

Richard Colombos life journey has been shaped by his love of music.  He has been a full time working musician for over 30 years as a singer-songwriter, recording artist, guitarist, ukulele evangelist and teacher.   The common theme in all his work has centered on building community through music.  That focus led him to create and nurture Artichoke Community Music and the Portland Ukulele Choir in Portland Oregon.  His work with those two groups was driven by an overarching theme of Everyday Music Making for Everyone and has inspired hundreds of people of all ages to come together in music.

Portland-based singer, piano and ukulele player, Laurie Linn is a musician, visual artist, teacher and co-director of the Portland Ukulele Choir.  A student of life, a friend, a beach walker, lover of dragonflies, a rock collector and most of all a believer in possibility.

Laurie and Richard were brought together by their love of music.  Together they elevate their music and stories to new heights and take their audience with them on the journey.  Their music spans across varying genres including Folk, Blues, The Great American Songbook and more.  Familiar songs combined with Richards original compositions take their audience on a personal journey of love, hope, laughter and sometimes tears.

Please mark your calendar for November 11th for the release of their new CD Once In A Lifetime Friend.  Richard and Laurie will be joined by their good friends Inge Hoogerhuis and Sky In The Road.  This is sure be a magical night of music and community!

Inge Hoogerhuis

Inge Hoogerhuis has been singing around Portland and the Bay Area for yeas where she has been part of the Cabaret and Folk Music Scene.  She recently recorded a CD with David Goldblatt called Five for You.  Her beautiful voice combined with her intimate delivery always leaves her audience wanting more.

Sky in the Road

You could say it was love at first note. When Sky in the Road founding members Daniel Rhiger and Rahmana Wiest, both singers and musicians since childhood, met they were providing back-up vocals and instrumentation for another local singer/songwriter. It quickly became apparent that there was magic in this "harmonic convergence" and Dan and Rah, as they are known by their friends, soon became musical partners and eventually life partners.

In the early nineties they gigged around the Northwest with their band The Big Picture, plying their brand of world-music inflected folk-rock at festivals and clubs, large and small. It was during this time that Dan Rhiger received two runner-up awards in Billboard Magazines 1991 National Songwriting Contest. The two songs honored, Skyward Dancer and The Rediscovery of Fire, were featured on The Big Pictures self-titled EP along with four other original tunes including two of Rahmanas compositions.
